Chubby Cree Video Playlist

Chubby Cree’s music is capturing audiences in Edmonton and beyond, largely due to the social media presence of videos Paula Kirman/Radical Citizen Media has filmed since the grandmother/grandson singing and drumming sensation started appearing at local rallies and protests since 2016. Here is a complete playlist of all of Paula’s Chubby Cree videos. Videos are in reverse chronological order.

Music Video: “Marching in the Street” (Version 2020)

“Marching in the Street” was the first protest song I (Paula Kirman) ever wrote, back in 2007. It talks about poverty and housing, the environment, and peace. During these days of quarantine and lockdown when activist communities are not as able to get together, I was missing my friends and community. So, I put together this video featuring a variety of protests from the around 1,000 I’ve attended/photographed/co-organized over the past 15 years. I tried to choose photos that matched the lyrics. I re-recorded the song at my home studio to give it a modern sound and groove. Hope you enjoy. And, when we can be together again, I look forward to marching in the street.
